Muhlenberg School District provides our students a strong foundation, centered on rich, authentic experiences that foster critical thinking, innovation, collaboration, communication, and literacy. Our Engaged Classroom Initiative has been established to create the proper conditions necessary for students to thrive in a 21st century environment.
Our staff has spent a considerable amount of our professional learning time to develop as 21st century educators. We are moving beyond the transmission model of teaching (basic skill sets, memorization, and computation) to teaching higher order thinking skills that will prepare students for the future. Skills such as problem solving, leadership, flexibility, initiative, analyzing, and interpreting are the cornerstones for life, work, and citizenship in the 21st century.
