Mrs. Danielle Ast
Welcome! My name is Danielle Ast (Zaborowski) and I am a second grade teacher at Muhlenberg Elementary Center. I graduated from Susquehanna University in 2005 and received my Master's in Instructional Technology in Eduction from Wilkes University in May 2015.
I love all kinds of sports, both watching and playing. I am a HUGE Philadelphia Flyers fan and support all local teams. I especially like football, soccer, and of course hockey. I grew up playing sports and played soccer for my college team. I have my soccer coaching certification and have coached middle school and high school soccer in my previous district.
I believe learning is best when it is authentic and hands on. I encourage students to discuss, ask questions, and challenge themselves and others. Learning can and should be a fun and engaging experience. I expect all students to do their best at all times.
I believe that building a strong community and sense of involvement is just as important to the development and growth of a child as academics are. This year we will be striving to be not just successful students but successful and caring people. I will be working to get your child to think for themselves, to treat others well, to strive for excellence, and instruct them on where to go to get help if they need it. I want your child to love learning, to want to be in school, and be as successful as they can be. Part of the way we are doing that is through our class and high five rules.
Open lines of communication between parents and the teacher are crucial to having a successful year. Please feel free to contact me through class dojo or my email address firstname.lastname@example.org anytime, write me a note, or call me at school. Together we can make this a great year for everyone!
