Bus Safety image

For Safety...

  • The safety of students, teachers and staff is always the first priority of Muhlenberg School District.  For the additional safety of students that ride buses...

    • All elementary students are provided with a Z-Pass.  Each time a child boards or departs from a school bus, the child swipes their Z-pass--up to four times per day.  Each swipe indicates the bus # the student boarded and departed and at what time.  Additionally, parents that use the "Zonar MyView" phone app, can identify where their child is located on each bus run.  Parents and guardians can download the Zonar MyView from their phone app store.  For additional assistance in setting this up, you may call the main office of your child's school.  If your child does not have a Z-Pass, they may get one at the main office of their school.
    • All elementary students have assigned seats on their bus.  Students are to sit in their assigned seat during each run.  If your child does not know their assigned seat, you may call the transportation department.
    • All kindergarten students must be met by a parent/guardian at bus drop-off.  Parents opting out must make arrangements with the administration of Muhlenberg Elementary Center.
    • It is illegal for any person to board a bus that is not authorized or rostered to that bus.  Bus drivers are trained to call law enforcement immediately upon any unlawful entry.
    • All school buses are equipped with audio and video recording devices.  On June 18, 2014, the Muhlenberg School District Board of Directors adopted Policy #810.2 entitled: "Transportation - Video/Audio Recording."
