Summer Projects at Muhlenberg School District

Posted by Ken Patterson on 4/4/2019

The Muhlenberg School District is embarking on two major construction projects during the spring and summer of 2019. The first project is taking place at the Muhlenberg Elementary Center. This project will begin April 15 and involve revamping the entrance to the building and updates/layout changes to the Main Office Area, Large Group Instruction Area, and the Library at Muhlenberg Elementary Center. These changes will bring the Elementary Center up to date and on par with the security changes made at the other School Buildings on campus. Please note the main entrance will shut down on April 15 and all visitors will report to the Temporary Main Office located to the left of the main entrance on the "A" wing. Please follow the temporary walkway and signs upon your visit and thank you for your understanding and cooperation while Muhlenberg Elementary Center undergoes these important changes. Construction is expected to be finished by August 12.

The second major project involves the Muhlenberg Middle School. When school ends on June 6, construction will begin shortly thereafter to replace 70,000 square feet of roof on the Middle School. Roofing systems are a vital part of maintaining the integrity of the building structure. Unlike the construction at the Muhlenberg Elementary Center, this construction should have minimal impact on any summer activities that may be taking place at Muhlenberg Middle School. This construction project is expected to be completed by August 16.

The summer months are also an important time for both the maintenance and custodial staffs here at Muhlenberg. These months are used to complete projects, special cleaning, and preventative maintenance that cannot be done while school is in session. These important tasks help to ensure all of the schools are ready to welcome the students when they return for the 2019-2020 school year. I hope all of you have a great summer!
