• 7th Grade Wellness

    (three periods per cycle for the entire school year)

    Wellness is divided into three classes each cycle.  Health will be taught one day of the three.  The students will participate in physical education classes for the other two days of the cycle. 

    Health classes will mainly focus on the body systems.  

    The physical education component will provide students with the opportunity to understand the benefits of personal fitness and provide them with the skills needed to participate in team sports as well as lifetime physical activities.  The students will participate in a variety of fitness activities; practicing concepts, principles, and strategies of movement as well as improving their personal health and motor skills. 

    A gym uniform is required; including a white t-shirt, blue shorts, and sneakers.

  • 9th Grade Physical Education

    This course will provide students with the opportunity to understand the benefits of personal fitness and provide them with the skills needed to participate in team sports as well as lifetime physical activities.  The students will participate in a variety of fitness activities; practicing concepts, principles, and strategies of movement as well as improving their personal health and motor skills.

  • 9th Grade Health

    (three periods per cycle for one semester, 1/4 Credit)

    This course provides basic information in the attitudes and patterns of human behaviors as they relate to various health issues.  Emphasis is on healthy lifestyle choices.  Topics include:  living a healthy lifestyle, building health skills and character, healthy relationships, peer relationships and abstinence, adolescent sexuality, and physical activity for life.
