Hello Muhlenberg Middle School Families,
Year 13 in the Muhlenberg School District and I am STILL very excited to jump into another amazing and successful school year. When I say #ilovemyjob, I truly mean it, I love my job and am so thankful to be a part of the Muhlenberg Family and Community. My goal continues to focus on building relationships with each and every student, as well as continue to connect with families and the community. My vision is to ensure each student strives to be the best that they can be, academically, socially, and emotionally, provided the supports and resources available here at the middle school. The beginning of this school year is very different from what we are normally used to. While we may encounter some obstacles during virtual learning, the Muhlenberg School District has a ton of resources to support families and students during this time. If at any time, you are experiencing any difficulty, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are always here to support you.
This year at the Muhlenberg Middle School, we will continue to promote our motto #OneTeam ! It is our goal to promote collaboration and positivity here at the MMS among the staff and students, one that creates a positive and family-like culture that promotes equity and diversity. Students and staff are expected to follow our three non-negotiables:
1) Treat everyone with Respect and Kindness, everyone, no exceptions.
2) Take Responsibility for our learning and set high expectations for ourselves, everyone, no exceptions.
3) Show Pride in ourselves and in our school, everyone, no exceptions.
Along with following these expectations, students have the opportunity to be rewarded in each of their classes for positive interactions and behaviors with Class Dojo points. Parents, you can connect with your child's class on Class Dojo. Not only will you be able to see how your child is doing, but you will be able to communicate with your child's teacher through the website or the app. It is a quick and easy download and a great opportunity to stay connected with your child's education.
Students can then take their Class Dojo points and trade them in for T-R-Y (Taking Responsibility for Yourself) tickets. Students can use T-R-Y tickets to purchase items from our Mobile School Store, use them on student recognition days, and use them for individual classroom incentives.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email. You can also follow me on Twitter, @DrGonzalezMMS, along with the Muhlenberg School District, @muhlsd, to see some of the awesome things happening in our school. Again, I am looking forward to another wonderful school year of putting forth "Excellence in Action" as #OneTeam at the Muhlenberg Middle School!
