Degrees and Certifications:

Benjamin O'Donnell

I graduated from Spring-Ford Area Senior High School, outside of King of Prussia, in 2006 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education Social Studies from Juniata College in 2010. While in college, I played Club Volleyball and was a member of the Concert Choir where I had the opportunity to travel to France, Belgium, and Brazil. Over the last few years, I have taught at Huntingdon Area High School, Strath Haven High School, and Spring-Ford Area Senior High School.

I am the 6th of 7 children and my family continues to grow as my siblings are now having children. It is an exciting time for the O'Donnell family and I am glad to be in the thick of the action.

I love to travel. Over the last 11 years, I've been to Ireland, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Scotland, England, Wales, United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Canada, Norway, Iceland, and China. I heard this Mark Twain quote a few years ago and really took it to heart:

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."

I recognize that I am very fortunate, so I try to use my travels to enhance my teaching and to encourage students to travel, too.
