• Background

    My name is Shane Bennett. I am entering my sixteenth year at Muhlenberg High School. It has been a great experience. I have lived in Berks County most of my life. I am a 1988 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School and a 1993 graduate of Ohio State University. I received my Teacher Certification in Business, Computer and Information Technology from Gwynedd Mercy College and my Masters in Instructional Technology from Wilkes Univestiy. I have worked in various areas of private business ranging from sales representation to operations management to insurance and financial planning. I began my teaching career in 2001 at Reading High School where I stayed until June of 2007. I have been with the Muhlenberg School District ever since.

    I have three adult children. We have resided in Bern Township since June of 1999.

    Philosophy

    I am a firm believer that involvement in school is pivotal for a young person's development. I believe that the more involved a young person is in school, the more successful the person is going to be. Whether it is singing in the chorus, playing in the band, running for office in student council or a school club or playing sports- involvement plays a key role in the development of a young person.
