• I am extremely excited to join the Muhlenberg School District administrative team.  Muhlenberg School District has been my home since 1999. I was originally hired as a secondary level social studies teacher. During my tenure at Muhlenberg I have taught most all of the offered social studies classes from grades 8 through 12. I have coached basketball and track, served as the club advisor for Student Council, the high school National Honor Society and most recently, the National Junior Honor Society at MJHS.  It is such a wonderful opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to nurturing lifelong learners and helping to develop productive citizens for our community.

While I have spent most of my professional career here at MSD, my first teaching experience was in the Grand Canyon National Park.  As a graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School and then Millersville University, the move across the country was quite an adventure.  I taught social studies, pre-algebra, tech-ed, and study skills at the middle school and coached the varsity girls’ basketball and volleyball teams.  Upon returning to PA in 1998, I worked for Alvernia University as the Resident Life Director and began substitute teaching for Muhlenberg.  In February of 1999 I was awarded a long term substitute position at MHS and have  been with the district ever since.

I believe that every child has the right to an opportunity for learning and growth in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe and intellectually challenging. Eighth grade is a transformational year as we are preparing students socially and academically for their high school academic careers. The eighth grade team is focused on supporting students in the development of the necessary skills so that they can be successful in high school.

As the parent of two young adults I bring perspective and experience to the administrative team. I have always viewed the students of Muhlenberg as “my students” in addition to my own children. My daughter, Reghan, is an esthetician in Fort Lauderdale and my son, Landon, is an automotive technician for Toyota. My children bring me the greatest joy and we share many positive experiences and enjoy fulfilling relationships with one another. Being an educator is part of my core identity. I am naturally curious and I thrive on new challenges and new life experiences. I am a dedicated Phili sports fan...Go Birds! I also enjoy time playing volleyball, pickleball, hiking, hitting the gym and staying active.  I spend as much time as I can outdoors and am an avid deep sea fisherman. I have worked thoughtfully to surround myself with good-hearted and positive people.  I am fortunate that many of friends are also colleagues. Muhlenberg is overflowing with people of character, integrity and commitment to each other and to all of the students. They work tirelessly to meet the needs of our students and to keep everyone moving in a positive direction.  It is my hope that I continue to bring my passion for learning and life to the Muhlenberg Junior High.
