Welcome to Art Class!
Hello! I am Mrs. Shrawder and this is my first year teaching art to grades K-3 at Muhlenberg Elementary Center!
I am so excited to be teaching foundational conepts and skills in art next to the amazing art teacher Kristy Manwiller. Before teaching elementary art I taught art, photography, and technology to high school students in the Bethlehem School District and spent the last three years teaching elementary art to grades K-5 at Arts Academy Elementary Charter School in Allentown, Pa.
I graduated from Kutztown University with my Bachelor of Fine Art degree with concentrations in painting and photography in 2011. After graduating I worked in New York City creating visual display designs for a bridal store in the West Villiage. During that time I worked on my own fine art in watercolor painting, and was a studio assistant for a wedding invitation design company. I realized my true calling and desire was to use my art background and work with students. So I attended Kutztown University for graduate school in art education and now I feel as though I have found my home in the Muhlenberg School District.
Why do I teach art?
I believe every student is a masterpiece and I love helping them to find the beauty within themselves through art!
