Degrees and Certifications:
Hello, welcome to Mrs. Bearoff's 11 English World Lit!
This is my second year in Muhlenberg High. I received my undergraduate from West Chester University of PA in Secondary English. I previously taught at Hamburg HS, Hamburg MS, and Conrad Weiser HS.
I am orignally from the Philly area (GO BIRDS!) and I moved to Berks County in 2016 for my husband's career. My husband and I have two wonderful children (fur babies, that is), and their names are Chief & Peggy. I usually have a story about them every day in class. I love to read and travel, and I enjoying hiking different local trails.
World Lit is a great way to experience the world outside of the United States. Although every American story is different and unique, it is essential to expand our knowledge and empathy beyond our borders to other cultures, countries, and personal stories we may never experience ourselves. Therefore, it is imperative to understand someone else's story in order to grow as a student, a teacher, a friend, an acquaintance, a coworker, a boss, and a human being. We will cover an expansive collection of stories in the form of novels, short stories, poems, and much more, while exploring wonderful stories that we will be able to connect to in one way or another.
I am very excited to meet you and hope we have a great year!
