Degrees and Certifications:
I graduated from Kutztown University with a Bachelor's degree in both Elementary and Special Education. My master's work was also completed at Kutztown University in the Reading Specialist program.
I began my career teaching special education in the Bethlehem/Allentown area. I taught students with learning disabilites for five years before taking time off to raise my children. When my children became school age, I began teaching preschool at a local church. From there, I started teaching 6th grade in the Muhlenberg School District. This is my second year teaching 5th grade! I am in my 21st year with the district.
2019-20 School Year:
This year I am on a team with Mr. Duong, who will be teaching math and science. I will be teaching English, language arts, and social studies. We are excited to welcome our new 5th graders and begin the school year with ALL students in C.E. Cole having Chrome books to enhance their engagement in our instruction.
My husband, Jeff, and I live in Muhlenberg Township and have 3 grown children who are all graduates of Muhlenberg High School. My oldest daughter, Kirsten, is a high school Spanish teacher at the STEM Academy in Downingtown, Erik is a C.O. at a prison south of Annapolis, Maryland, and my youngest daughter, Aimee, is a 4th grade teacher in the Manheim Township School District.
We were blessed with two beautiful granddaughters in 2017 and this year my kids are adding to their families with two boys. Carson was born in June and Baby Charlie is due any day now (August). We love watching them grow and learn!
