Ms. Dawson

I am from a family of teachers. While I was attending Owen J. Roberts as an elementary student, my grandfather and father were teaching in the same district. If I forgot my homework, my teachers could simply walked down the hall to tell them about it! I have spent more time in a classroom than any other place in the world, and my dream became standing in front of a classroom of children one day. In High School, I worked with students with special needs at Camp Joy in Schwenksville, PA. In 2004, I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Special Education, and was ready to finally make my dreams come true.

My last student teaching experience was in 8th grade learning support at Southern Middle School, and I enjoyed my work there immensely. So much, that I applied for a job in the same building. I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade language arts for 10 years, and during my time there, I became highly interested in how students learn how to read. After earning my  Master's degree/certification as a Reading Specialist in 2013, I worked as a Reading Instructional Coach for 2 years.

In 2016, I decided to return to my roots in elementary education. It is an amazing experience to be an integral part of children's growth and development from the very beginning. This will be my 2nd year in Kindergarten as a Learning Support teacher at Muhlenberg Elementary Center and I absolutely LOVE it! I am so excited to meet your child and help them learn and grow this year!

I live in Exeter with my two daughters (ages 2 and 8). My oldest daughter enjoys gymnastics, horseback riding, and playing the Viola. My youngest loves anything that has to do with Paw Patrol and being exactly like her big sister! We also have a new kitten named Phoenix and she is ADORABLE.
