    WELLNESS EDUCATION Grades 10-12
    Wellness Education is a mandatory selective physical education program. Students will select quarterly
    to include Personal Fitness, Strength and Conditioning or Physical Education. One selection must be
    completed each quarter. Health topics such as nutrition, wellness, substance abuse, addiction, first aid,
    CPR, decision-making and goal-setting, mental health and suicide education units will be offered. Health
    will be taught inclusively within the Wellness Class.

    PERSONAL FITNESS Grades 10-12
    The Personal Fitness program is designed so that students will: 1. develop knowledge of, and demonstrate
    individual development in, physical fitness emphasizing aerobic or cardio respiratory fitness, to promote lifelong
    physical activity; 2. assess health-related fitness in relation to the following components: cardio respiratory,
    flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and body composition; 3. achieve health-related fitness
    through involvement in an individually designed physical fitness program; 4. maintain personal fitness through
    regular participation in physical activity.
     
    STRENGTH & CONDITIONING Grades 10-12
    The weight-training program is designed for the student who is interested in improving his/her physical
    condition. Strength will be enhanced by a program centered around endurance, strength, flexibility, and
    an understanding of fitness development. Students will keep a record of quarterly attainment, which will
    provide an over-all picture of improvement in their level of weight training fitness.
