Welcome to the virtual welcome page of the C. E. Cole Intermediate School. It is a pleasure to serve the Muhlenberg School District as the fifth and sixth grade Principal. I truly believe that the school itself is only a building; it’s the hard-working students, professional faculty, and skilled support staff that make this a great place to learn.
C. E. Cole Intermediate School is comprised of approximately 550 fifth and sixth grade students and approximately 50 faculty and staff and is located between the Muhlenberg Elementary Center and the Muhlenberg Community Library off of Kutztown Road. The C. E. Cole Intermediate School is connected to the Muhlenberg Elementary Center, which allows staff to move between the buildings with ease. The professional collaboration between the Muhlenberg Elementary Center and the C. E. Cole Intermediate School ensures that all students are given the best possible transition. Additionally, through the integration of Art, Music, Physical Education, Library, and Computer classes into the general education curriculum, students receive a high-quality, well-rounded education.
Our teachers are committed to involving parents in education as well. Many opportunities exist for parents to take an active role in their child’s educational development. Teachers offer a number of resources for parents to supplement the education they receive during the school day. Additionally, a number of the teachers are also active in after-school activities and continuously work to create more opportunities for students and parents beyond the school day as well.
One visit to our school and the commitment and dedication to promoting academic growth and development is evident. Teachers engage in a variety of standards-based learning activities designed to stretch and challenge students to be creative problem-solvers, as well as productive citizens ready to compete in the global economy. A feeling of community and personal accountability is stressed as students continue to grow into the next generation of world leaders.
But don’t take my word for it, I invite you to visit our school and see it for yourself. Who knows, you may find yourself holding a video camera to film a book project during Reading, taking students throughout the school measuring various items for a Math scavenger hunt, or holding a tarantula (properly preserved of course) in a Science class. No matter what it is, I’m sure it will leave you with the desire to return as you too will discover what we already know…C. E. Cole is excellence in action!
For more information about our school or programs or to schedule a time to meet with me, please feel free to call 610-921-8212.
I look forward to your involvement!
